Finding the natural waist is important. The natural waist is higher than most think; about 1 inch above your belly button. To find your natural waist, follow the photo below:

• Bend to either side. Where your body bends is the natural waist.
• Keep the measuring tape straight across the front and back.

• Measure around the largest part of your hips and bottom.
• Be sure that the measuring tape is straight across the front and back.

A well-sized, roomy pocket: on its own it sounds pretty average, right? Well, add that pocket to the face of a luxurious gym towel and you have the Action Gym Towel!

It wasn’t until I was getting my things ready for a trip to the gym that I realized this pocket could come in handy before I even walked out my front door.

I have a few extra pieces that I reserve for the gym:

• Hair tie - I’m envying those ladies with short, chic styles right now!
• Slipless headband too, because it has been many long months since I started growing my bangs out
• Gym pass – need it to get through the doors

The pocket lets me keep these items in my towel once it comes out of the wash so that I won't forget to bring my essentials every time I head to the gym.

Fortunately, my fiancée was able to help with that mystery.  He chose his iPod and armband carrier, as well as his work out gloves; and yes, it all fit – I closed the zipper myself!

So we’ve covered the gym prep, but how did this towel perform when I arrived at the gym? I tested it every way I could think of, like on the treadmill:

I was most interested to see how it would perform underneath me on the bench, holding my keys all at the same time. I am glad to report that it is large enough to keep the keys from pressing into your back and cover the bench too!

I have to say that this headwear performed beyond my typical expectations for a hat. Running in a slight rain, the hat protected my face and also shielded my glasses from dreaded raindrops! My favourite feature is actually added directly into the name – MESH!

The Project:  We used the Robson lululemon athletica location in downtown Vancouver as our testing ground and asked our own guests to give their input – blindfolded!  We placed an item in their hands (our Run: Swiftly Tech made of silverescent) and let them express whatever came to mind…

The Participants:

• Gemma, our educator at Robson was more than eager to help out

• Two of our wonderful guests, (they were a little shy to reveal their names to our online crowd), were also kind enough to offer their time to our little experiment

The Results:

Our first guest took hold of the Run: Swiftly Tech and the word she came up with was “lightweight”.  This is because our silverescent fabric is exceptionally breathable.

Next, she thought it was “soft, but not too soft.”  This is because of the silver fibre they hide so well in the fabric!  (Check out the close up next.)  That silver fibre is the reason silversecent provides anti-stink.  Anti-stink means that the silver inhibits, or slows; the growth of odour-causing bacteria that we all know can run rampant after a tough workout!

Our next guest revealed to us that she is an avid runner – who better to give feedback on a run-inspired fabric?!

She was quick to fire off excellent descriptors for us:

• We heard lightweight again – 2 for 2!
• She also thought it was soft
• The comment that rang so true was: “It’s so stretchy; it would have to be breathable.”
• When we asked about a possible use for such a fabric, she immediately suggested running – a good sign indeed!
