day zero: the adventure begins

Our resident yoga-enthusiast and digital content specialist, Alana, is in Lake Tahoe for Wanderlust Squaw Valley. If you’re reading this on Thursday, the down dogs will be in full swing in Tahoe, but here’s what went down on Day Zero: the Day Before [hints: travel, trivia, and Dirty Dancing were involved]

ambassador tips for wanderlust tahoe

In a few short days, I’ll be packing up my luon and heading to Wanderlust Tahoe for four days of yoga, music and adventure. I asked some of our Tahoe-bound ambassadors (Chloe Luce, Carolyn Ann Budgell, Clara Roberts-Oss, and Eoin Finn) for tips. After hearing their answers, I may just add my Magic Bullet and a non-black travel mat to my packing list.

the pursuit of handstands

Practice, practice, and all is coming – Sri K. Pattabhi Jois

Even though I had been practicing yoga on and off since I took my first class in 1998, I used to think that I would not be a legit yogi until I had mastered Adho Mukha Vrksasana, aka handstand. Two things happened that changed my mind.

the possibility of a lunch hour

Ahh… summer. Chris leading us through an outdoor class last July. We talk about possibilities a lot at lululemon. It’s a simple idea, really. We all have opportunities to create amazing things out of nothing – things that may have not otherwise existed. Our global ambassador Chris Chavez knows how it’s done. He recently turned a potentially mundane [...]

marathons build community

Last weekend at the New York Marathon, tens of thousands of goals were met and life-long dreams realized as runners from all over the world raced their way through the 42 kilometre course around the city. But if you think a marathon is all about running, think again. It’s about people. The city was alive [...]

achieve a goal? celebrate!

Feeling inspired a couple months ago by a Youtube video (which may or may not have involved a cat wearing a top hat), I created this structure out of locally sourced materials (the second floor kitchen) and declared it the Goal Hat. Ever since then, I’ve been waiting for someone on the online team to [...]

behind the scenes of try this

Last month I headed to YYoga Northshore Elements with Gordon and Pat (the lululemon visuals dream team!) to work on our very first video yoga project, which made its debut on our homepage yesterday. Here are a few behind-the-scenes photos from the afternoon. Nico was teaching a yoga class downtown, so while we waited for [...]

travelling? how to explore a new city

When you arrive in a new city for the first time, it can take a few days to get familiar with the neighbourhoods and figure out where everything is (and where to get a good cup of coffee!). Want in on a little secret? Every city that has a lululemon also inherently has its own [...]

the no excuses run club

We came together in a circle on the seawall. It was a Tuesday morning in March and the sun wasn’t up yet. Vancouver was still holding on to the ends of winter. It was cold. Running hurts my knees. It’s boring. I don’t have time to run. I’m not a morning person. The seawall at [...]
