WHY WE LOVE THIS

We get it. Sometimes going ‘au natural’ is just the right choice. We designed The Pure Mat with two layers of natural rubber and a grippy textured surface making it Bakasana and Savasana ready. The closed cell construction means sweat won’t absorb into the mat so it’s easy to clean and easy to share. We also engineered two different thicknesses of The Pure Mat (3mm-5mm) because sometimes we like a little more cushion and sometimes we want to lighten up. This mat is the kind of natural goodness that really floats our boat.

Natural rubber is a soft and stable surface. It gives The Pure Mat the kind of cushiony feel that makes you want to Down Dog. The ultra-grippy surface makes it easy to get a grip - even when things get sweaty.  Natural rubber does have a slight scent that will fade over time (turns out first impressions aren’t everything). Just roll it out and let it breathe before you head to class.

Does this mat contain latex? I am a nurse and have noticed over the past several years that more and more people are becoming allergic to latex. In the hospital setting we have to be careful of anything made of rubber, since this mat is made of all natural rubber it just made me wonder.

Is it good for no slipping in down dog? That is a constant problem for me – when my down dog is properly wide my hands slip, and I HATE it! I have “The Mat” which is practically perfect in every other way, but I might pick this up too if you think it’s “grippier” than ” The Mat!’

Lululemon mats need alignment lines again

To keep your bodys alignment in check and to also notice any tendencies of being out of alignment,

I dont understand why they took a step back and got rid of the line

My old lulu mat had it
and going through my yoga teacher training, I now have my permanent marker lines drawn onto my mat…

Is it more grippy than “the mat”, less grippy, or just as grippy? The mat is the most grippy mat I know of.. Inquiring minds want to know!

I find the Pure Mat has a ‘stickier’ feel to it so the grip is firm during your downward dogs.

Is it as absorbent as The Mat? I love The Mat because I can use it in my Bikram class without a towel.

The Pure Mat does contain latex, it’s a great question as the mat does contain natural rubber.

Hi David,
I don’t normally use a towel for my Power classes however I do use one for a hot class. I find that the Pure Mat is grippier so I would say you could go towel less in your power class.

ok, so I tried the new pure mat. Sorry to say that it is def not as grippy as “the mat” it feels just like the manduka all natural eko edition. I sweat a LOT and I have tried just about every mat out there, if your hands slip on most mats, then they will probably slip on this pure one.
No worries though, just get “the mat”… :) the grippiest mat on the market!

I wouldn’t be surprised if you see that Pure Mat in Australia shortly. Were on slightly different product time line in North America and get a mix of product you have seen and product you will likely see a little later.
