The BMC Race Team took on the Amgen Tour of California beginning May 12 and Michael Schaer captured the whole thing. See what it's like to be a member of the BMC Race Team.

We had a nice welcome party in La Jolla from the lululemon team. We really enjoyed the evening before the big race started.

We had big goals for this race with the favourite, Tejay van Garderen.

The last training before the race started in San Diego. I was in such a good shape that I even was too fast for this cop. Luckily he let me go after a long discussion.

Our world champion, Philippe Gilbert, carried many bananas for us. He left us early in the race for a nice reason. His wife had a baby on Friday.

Here I found my American love - this dog just wanted to kiss (Look at the passion in his eyes). I heard afterwards that he's a big BMC fan.

I raced my time trial in a very aerodynamic position but I went easy to save my energy for the coming days. Because Tejay van Garderen rode into the lead during this time trial, which means a lot of work for me to defend the yellow jersey.

I snuck the camera in the race to get a picture when the peloton crosses the Golden Gate Bridge. It was our last day of racing and a great experience to go over this bridge on the bike. The commissaires almost took me out of the race because I'm not actually allowed to take a camera in the race.

Me posing in front of the Golden Gate Bridge. I really like San Francisco and I want to come back here for a holiday.

Big celebration for the whole BMC Racing Team. It is always nice to have everyone on the podium because cycling is a team sport. We won the teams classification and the individual with Tejay van Garderen.

Ella, a writer on our creative team, caught up with global yogi Chris Chavez at his home in Istanbul, Turkey, to ask him more about a phrase he shared during a recent community class in Vancouver which inspired our team and turned into a Yoga Journal ad. When our graphic designer Steph and I attended [...]

The days and weeks are going lighting fast – only 85 days until SeaWheeze 2013! We can’t wait to yoga, run and party through Vancouver’s beaches, mountains and city streets with you again this summer. Last year, we created an app to help you with all things half-marathon related: training, a city guide to help [...]

(from l-r: shamai, tara, laurel, alicia) Many of us run with a personal best or goal in mind. However, for three long-time runners with big plans for 2013, a PB isn’t a factor at all. Laurel, Tara and Alicia are three pals who have a lot (and we mean A LOT) of running experience between [...]

For the second part in our series on entrepreneurship, meet my buddy Craig. He has taken a personal interest in all things wood paired and a desire to be creative and launched one of the West Coast’s hottest furnishing companies, Union Wood Co. All the amazing pieces are crafted in their in-house woodworking studio in [...]

Wisps of wind tickled wiskers as feet snapped in mid-air just inches from my face. Vibrations rocketed up Kadri’s legs each time the ninjas landed.  [...]

The annual Amgen Tour of California starts this week with seven different races over seven days from May 12-19.  The race brings together teams from Europe, South America, and North America, challenging riders with a new route every year. This year, it starts in Escondido, and travels north over the week and finishes in Santa [...]

Many of us have had dreams of working for ourselves. Be it that we have an idea for a business that doesn’t yet exist or we wish to simply create our own workplace, it is an exciting proposition…and also sometimes a scary one. How does one get started? What are the challenges ahead? There are [...]

Danne works in our Natick store in Boston and also is the brains behind the incredible blog 12 Months Of Lent. She recently participated in her first yogathon. What is that, you wonder? Read on. On Sunday, April 28th, I participated in my first Yoga Reaches Out yogathon. Wait…yogawhat? That’s right — a yogathon, kind of like [...]

Brand Manager, blogger extraordinaire and fast runner (1:48 half marathons….whoa!) Kelsey has decided to switch gears and volunteer at this year’s SeaWheeze. Here’s why she’s doin’ what she’s doin’. There is nothing quite like crossing a finish line. All that hard work: the training, the mental preparation, the ice baths (ugh!) and the commitment to [...]
