I was first introduced to yoga in 1995 during a stay in the canyonlands of Southern Utah while attending a semester at the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS). I met an incredible instructor who practiced yoga every morning. At first it seemed strange but as time went on I came to appreciate his calm amidst the challenges of wilderness living. I joined him every morning on the rocks of Utah and was amazed at how peaceful and joyful I felt. It transformed my days for the remainder of the trip and ever since.
Early on in my path to teaching, I had the good fortune of meeting and apprenticing with David Magone, founder of PranaVayu Yoga. I found the style of PranaVayu to be unique because of the way PranaVayu blended scientific principles with traditional yoga philosophies and applied them to the body. As a Senior PranaVayu teacher, I continue to explore these methods as I apply them to my training and to life.
In addition to teaching, I am co-owner and Mind/Body Director at Stil Studio. At Stil Studio our classes are designed to build strength, flexibility and balance while being fun, contemplative and relaxing. I’m grateful to be part of a community of PranaVayu and Stil Studio teachers who share the belief that we can help make the world a happier, healthier and kinder place to live.
