My interest in the ambassador program is deeply rooted in my love for lululemon Victoria. I am not exaggerating! The staff at this store have been the most amazing support to me as a yoga teacher and have been there cheering me on as I have grown as an instructor. Giving me the opportunity to teach community classes, do in store demos and places to post flyers to help promote my classes has opened so many new doors for me. Not to mention the fact that lululemon is carrying both my DVDs and provided the wardrobe for Connections to Core! Did I mention the celebrations yet? Volleyball parties and goal setting boat cruises as a way of celebrating the teachers in the community; it is pretty easy to want to be part of such an amazing company and group of people! Being an ambassador is a way to be part of a wave of energy that embodies what yoga is about- lululemon sets the scene for people to lift each other to pretty amazing heights! In addition, the clothing and apparel just can't be beat. The quality is on par with the quality of the staff, outstanding!

Breathe deeply and appreciate the moment. Living in the moment could be the meaning of life: For me it comes down to this, we become so accustomed to Doing, Doing, Doing that we often forget to give ourselves the opportunity to BE. In these rare moments, we are present and this is when yoga happens.

lululemon athletica creates components for people to live longer, healthier and more fun lives. If we can produce products to keep people active and stress-free, we believe the world will become a much better place: I have often asserted that if we could somehow stipulate that each elected leader practice yoga for an hour each day, we would live in a much different world. The actions our governments would take would be infused with empathy, compassion understanding and interactions would be done with more patience and focused on solutions.

Goals for this year:

Professional: Think globally! I will promote my DVD locally, nation wide and globally. I will also lead retreats this summer that are local and at least one off the island! Here is the big one, I will teach at the Vancouver Yoga Conference before 2015!

Personal: I will create times where the energy flow is coming into me rather than going out. I intend on taking a class from an inspirational teacher in Victoria at least once a week and will go to at least 5 trainings to recharge my battery, renew my motivation and further develop as a teacher.

Health: In addition to the above, I will give my body the care it needs every month with acupuncture and massage at least once a month.

My favourite teacher and a great friend: Peter Sterios has been a mentor, inspiration and friend since I first started teaching in Fresno California. I admire his honesty, strength and ability to take students to the places that they need to go. I started hosting him in Victoria two years ago so that he could come and share his knowledge through his workshops with all the yogis here!

Additional info: Plank, it is my favourite and for good reason! One pose that asks us to give everything we have in one moment and to let everything outside of that moment fall away.

I teach children with learning disabilities in a program that challenges them to strengthen their brain and cognitive capacities! I am inspired by the dedication, determination and positivity they carry even when faced with daunting challenges. It helps me keep it all in perspective.

Smiles,
