Darcy Lyle

Darcy Lyle has been teaching yoga in the Pittsburgh area since 2004. Her yoga journey began in college with spuratic practice in a variety of styles. In 2003 she started working as the aquatics director at a health club, and when the yoga teacher at this club took a leave of absence, Darcy was called on to fill in. So, almost by accident, she began the deeper learning into becoming a yoga teacher.

In January of 2005 Darcy completed her vinyasa yoga certification with Amazing Yoga, a Baptiste affiliate studio, and then taught at AY for several years. During this time she continued her understanding of this style of yoga through workshops with Baron Baptiste, Gregor Singleton, and Brian Kest.

In the fall of 2009 Darcy's teaching started to expand out to encompass more variety and a slower pace of breath and asana. As part of this expansion she attended the Jivamukti "Taste of Teacher Training," which was a week long immersion with Sharon Gannon, David Life, and Jules Febre. This training was especially helpful in igniting Darcy's personal meditation practice. Then in 2010, she received her 200 hour teacher certification through Yoga Flow. Now you can find Darcy teaching classes and workshops around the city at Yoga Flow, South Hills Power Yoga, and Stray Dog Yoga Studio.

Darcy's teaching will forever be rooted in the strength and alignment principals of the Baptiste style; but now, her teaching also focuses on time, patience, meditation and slow cleansing breaths. Darcy is most excited about the power of intention and living a purposeful life both on and off the mat!
