The first time I tried pilates on the reformer was in 2003. I left my first private lesson feeling exuberated. I had never been as sore as I was, and loved that I worked every tiny muscle in my body. I continued taking lessons three times a week and could not get enough. I absolutely loved the changes that were happening to my figure, and it was totally transforming! I was so passionate and empowered by pilates that I decided to get certified in 2006. I was so unfulfilled in my current job in banking, that in 2007, I quit, and took a chance opening Exhale Pilates Studio, LLC. Being a start-up business owner has been challenging, but my hard work and dedication to my clientele has paid off….because Exhale has won “Best Pilates Studio” in Charleston for the 6 years that it has been open!

Exhale currently offers privates, semi-privates and up to groups of 5, and we are in the process of expanding in the near future. I feel so fortunate and blessed to be able to have a job that I absolutely love going to each day. I get to meet such amazing people and love helping them to achieve their health and fitness aspirations. My mantra for Exhale is to balance a fun and relaxing atmosphere, with a kick-butt workout!

An ongoing goal I have is to practice what I preach, so I take pilates and other forms of workouts here and abroad, to expand my knowledge base. I believe pilates is a living, breathing and evolving form; therefore, I take these new learned techniques, and blend them with the basic foundations to create my own style.

I continued practicing pilates while I was pregnant with my son Smith, and truly feel that pilates made my pregnancy and delivery so much easier. Having such a strong core helped me bounce back to my pre-pregnancy shape in just weeks! With the new addition to my family, I strive to find a good balance between being a mom, wife and business owner….it’s not always easy, but I think I’m doing a pretty good job!
