Kate Jenkins loves being a hot yoga instructor. She completed Bikram Yoga Teacher Training in California in 2009. After completing the 9 week, 500 hour training, she traveled throughout the country to teach and complete her internship. She opened the doors to Kiva Hot Yoga in 2011.
A native of Nashville, TN, she attended college at Loyola University in New Orleans and received a Bachelor of Music degree. She enjoys cycling and running, and has participated in numerous crits, century rides and marathons.
She became a member of Iron Tribe Fitness in 2012. In 2013, Kate and her husband Kerry became Iron Tribe franchisees and opened their first Iron Tribe in New Orleans in 2014. Kate love the thrill of an Iron Tribe class and looks forward to sharing the Iron Tribe training and nutrition methods with a new community.
She believes that you should sweat at least once a day. And, if you do just as much yoga as your other physical activities, you’ll be able to do those activities until you’re 110!
Kate feels lucky to be a member of Cochiti Pueblo Indian reservation in New Mexico. She is eager to give back to the community that has given her so much. She plans to form a non profit organization that will bring yoga and a healthier lifestyles to Natives within their communities.
