Growing up in Santa Cruz, CA Andrea Marcum’s earliest career aspiration was to be a fairy-princess. While the other kids at her Montessori school were inside acquiring math skills, she dressed up in frilly costumes and sang on the swings outside. Years later, still lacking math ability, and in search of a sensible career, she moved south to attend USC, and stumbled into her first yoga class in the early 90’s at the local gym. Since then, Andrea has studied with some of the best, including Annie Carpenter, Tim Miller and Vinnie Marino. She enjoys many styles of yoga, but it’s the sweaty intensity of vinyasa that she finds herself most drawn to. Angela Manuel-Davis was born into a sports family. Her father Jerry Manuel played, coached and managed baseball in the MLB. His competitive spirit, drive, and determination was passed onto her and her siblings. Angela grew up playing soccer and running track and was nationally ranked in both. Angela went to Oral Roberts University on a full Track and Field scholarship where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science. While running track professionally, she at one point was ranked in the top 25 in the world at 100m. A 5-time All-American, Angela was later inducted into the ORU Hall of Fame. Kerry Quakenbush (Level I, USATF Coach) is the Director of Endurance Events at AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) where he oversees the training of hundreds of athletes annually as they prepare for marathons, half marathons, trail runs and triathlons. This fundraising program of APLA raises over $1.5 million annually and helps to fund APLA’s programs that provide vital services to individuals in Los Angeles County who are affected by HIV/AIDS. A dedicated athlete, Kerry has completed 30 marathons, several half marathons as well various trail races, relays, 10K and 5K races. In 2011, Kerry began training for triathlons and in July of 2012 completed a full IronMan race in Klagenfurt, Austria.
