In 2009 Amelia underwent spinal fusion surgery, it was after this that she felt the draw to yoga. Fearing physical limitations, she pursued private yoga lessons and fell madly in love with the practice. In 2012 she graduated teacher training with Gioconda Parker of Austin, TX and received her 200 hour certification with Yoga Alliance. In 2013 Amelia received her second 200 hour certification through CorePower Yoga in Power Vinyasa. She loves teaching yoga, being able to share and witness the wonders of possibility with others elates her heart and soul. Amelia's background in physical therapy combined with her training in powerful vinyasa flow create a class that will be both sweaty and fluid. Ari Witkin is the Community Affairs Director for Conley Sports and The LIVESTRONG Austin Marathon and Half Marathon where he serves as the primary liaison with neighborhood, religious, business, civic, non-profit, educational, and governmental groups to facilitate and expand community engagement. He is also the Managing Director of 26 Miles for 26 Charities, the philanthropic organization of the marathon that brings together 26 different Austin area non-profits. Having served as an Analyst for the Texas House of Representatives and Senior Associate at The Brookings Institution in Washington, DC, Ari brings a wealth of public affairs experience to Conley Sports. Gioconda began practicing in the Hatha Yoga tradition with Murti of Healing Yoga in Austin, Texas in 1996. Murti began his training with Billy Porter (Urban Yoga), Peggy Kelley and Devon Deitrich (Iyengar Training), and now trains with Rodney Yee, who has the biggest influence on his teaching. In 1997, after her first year of practice, she entered a three-year teacher training and apprenticeship with Murti. During this time she also studied and practiced Pattabhi Jois’s ashtanga yoga, and attended workshops and seminars with Rodney Yee, Angela Farmer, Anna Forrest, John Friend, T.K.V.
