Evan Soroka

Evan Rachel, an Aspen local, started her practice in 2002 as a teenager looking for something to do other than trouble. Yoga got her on the right path and guided her through college with confidence and grace. In 2007 she was certified by her friends at CorePower Yoga Boulder where she proceeded to teach vinyasa and yoga sculpt. After college, Evan moved to South America where she worked in an office building and wore a suit to work. Sitting at a computer all day, a weakness developed in her spine. One day in shoulder stand, she herniated her L4 and was crippled. The injury was due to lack of understanding and awareness; her yogic intention shifted from physical challenge to an introspective healing. Although she still loves a physical practice, her passion and gift lies within the science of yoga therapy. All of her classes are rooted in the tradition of awareness, breath, and appropriate sequencing. Be prepared for a challenging and anatomically centered practice always with a goal or focus. She is currently studying Viniyoga with Gary Kraftsow pursuing a Master's degree in Yoga Therapy.
