Position Summary:
•To develop and commercialize packaging according to the brand and international compliance product standards of lululemon. To maintain up to date  vendor capabilities and industry standards to deliver technical and innovativative packaging
•Collaborate with Brand and Design and Compliance to develop short and long term packaging strategy and execute on a seasonal implementation.


Core Accountabilities:
•Communicate with cross-functional teams on seasonal packaging and labeling requirements for on-time and correct execution on BOITs and artworks.

 

Commercialization   (70%)
•Develop and implement packaging, labels, one size and track labels, thread and hangtags that meet performance and quality standards, manufacturing capabilities, and in line with lululemon timelines and business goals.
•Develop a clear partnership with design and Brand, Compliance and Development.
•Track all developments seasonally and ensures that all meet adoption and buy ready timelines
•Liaise with X-functional partners and external parties to create and approve packaging submissions.
•Carry out and comprehend results of lab tests, their impact on quality, price, and delivery and has the ability to request adjustments in the component to support company objectives
•Accountable for creating and driving a development process to meet packaging deliverables. 
•Carry out regular risk screening of products and manufacturing routes including RSL requirements and international product standards as laid out by Product Compliance Manager.
•Ensure that component records are accurately set up within the system tools on a timely basis.
•Able to take on, and lead other assigned projects  required as assigned by the Commercialization Director.

 

Innovation  (20%)
•Drive packaging development & innovation by working with community, brand, designers, vendors, reviewing industry newsletters and other information sources.
•Create and maintain a packaging library that support innovation and trend possibilities for the upcoming season and work with design to identify which of those might be developed into fully commercialized packaging options.


Delivery/Quality Performance   (10%)
•Provide updates to Management as requested regarding strategy, implmenetation, , delivery, development, buy ready and pricing status
•Work with sourcing to identify areas of cost saving across your business area through opportunities such as commitment to leverage, scale, product sourcing routes and duty minimization, etc.
•Provide technical expertise to sourcing, liaise with the LLO and always strive to work well and receive input from other x-functional teams.
•Ensure that quality is key focus throughout commercialization process… i.e., construction, component decisions etc.
•Work with QA to analyze guest feedback to gain knowledge of guest requirements for product innovation


Required Skills/Experience
•University degree / College Diploma required, preferably in packaging. 
•3-5 years of apparel, hard/soft good industry experience and a working knowledge of the industry.
•Knowledge of development techniques, (process / equipment etc.) for packaging and the packaging development process and timelines.
•Technical knowledge gained in retail / manufacturing environment covering all areas of packaging from substrates, material construction, finishes and printing.
•Knowledge of industry testing standards/test reports.
•Knowledge of x-functional team accountabilities and requirements preferred, including design, sourcing, merchandising and quality assurance.
•Strong IT skills (Microsoft office application, adobe illustrator / CAD  and Outlook a must, familiarity with PLM  software preferred)
•Knowledge of vendor processes/equipment/techniques, etc.
•Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
•Strong ability to communicate clearly and objectively.
•Must have ability to multi-task effectively.
•Must be an “outside the box” thinker: Entrepreneurial, innovative and resourceful.
•Strong background in the sourcing and development of packaging, including trade show experience.
